Welcome to the Libra Room, the only spot in Vancouver to catch live music seven-nights a week. Now in its eighth year of transformation, the Libra Room – located in the heart of Commercial Drive – has carved out its own unique niche in the community.
Like the neighbourhood it’s situated in, the space is colourfully eclectic. Wooden tables, chairs, centre-bar and performance stage add a rustic charm to the perennial haunt. Works from local artists decorate the walls. Each month a new artist is featured with the pieces available for purchase. Open from 11 am daily, the Libra Room’s brunch & dinner menu features Italian-inspired selections fused with classic West Coast flair. The dishes showcase fresh, local offerings and pack a value-driven punch – with all items priced under $18. Like the restaurant’s namesake, the cocktail program is astrologically-inspired. The full spectrum of zodiac signs is aligned with a specific martini and cocktail featuring premium spirits. Whether you’re an Aquarian, Leo or Gemini – there’s no bad sign to be born under here. Select wines are also available by the glass or bottle. The Libra Room is home to young burgeoning musicians and Vancouver jazz giants such as John Korsrud, Wes Mackey and Bruno Hubert. Two bands perform nightly, taking the stage at 6:30 pm and 9 pm respectively. Supporting the local music scene, the Libra Room has played host to major musical events, such as the New Music West festival, The Juno Festival and the Vancouver Jazz Festival. Striking the right balance between lounge and restaurant, gastropub and saloon – the Libra Room is characterized by its friendly service, talented musicians, and delicious cuisine – guaranteeing patrons a most memorable experience.
